Sometimes, there’s this wonderful little thing that happens in Kelly’s Kitchen when I meet a cookbook author, and find we have a lot in common – and become friends! That’s why I’m so happy to introduce you to Carol Kicinski, the author of “Simply-Gluten Free Desserts.” Carol lives here in Tampa Bay, but does a lot of traveling, makes TV appearances (yes, that is her on Daytime!) and does it all gluten free. It wasn’t just a choice for Carol, she was diagnosed as gluten-intolerant and had to find a way to enjoy the foods she and her family love, but in a way that was still tasty. I think we all have misconceptions about how something that’s gluten free will taste, but Carol’s book will change that. This is her first book and when we were having dinner at The Living Room in Dunedin, she also mentioned that she was working on another one for easy meals. Yes, we’ll make sure to talk about that when it’s out.

Oh, and the nice thing about The Living Room, right on Main St…you can eat a delicious, gluten-free meal there, including dessert. Chef Tony Bruno’s specialty the night we were there was an espresso flan that just melted in my mouth. I could have eaten many, many more!
