My Weekend Houseguest Molly

It’s a Simply Sunday with mixed blessings. Molly is back to spend the weekend and we both just chilled Friday evening and watched The Weather Channel and the storm that was moving in to make a mess of most of the weekend for the northeast. Jim Cantore was in Boston, and when we both finally fell asleep last night it was starting to look pretty grim. I can imagine how many kitchens were frantically stocking up for the weekend, making sure they had firewood stacked and ready to go if they were lucky enough to have a fireplace and hoping for the best. Saturday morning’s news was anything but good, with it officially a killer storm, reports of hurricane force wind gusts and many thousands without power. The Red Cross will be helping and can always use our help, It’s been a rough winter and I can imagine how much they’re hoping and praying for an early winter.

At my end of the world, it’s a weekend for keeping the family close to my heart with many decisions to help make from afar, and deeply wish we didn’t have too. It makes he want to get into the kitchen and just have the aroma of something baking to make me feel like I’m home, and that’s what I’ll do with those delectable blueberries I picked up from Nature’s Food Patch. Sunday morning muffins with Molly sound good to me!

But Saturday night, I’ll be checked out Mitchell’s Fish Market over at Westshore Plaza for the first time, and take in S’Wonderful at the Straz. Girl’s night out! I’ll be sure to let you know what I enjoyed, and if a return trip is in the works. Molly is just content with her jerky doggie treats, her kibble and barking at the squirrels. It’s simple pleasures for a weekend full of Simply Sundays.
