Okay my friends. The “when will it be done so we can have a party” questions can stop. The “it” in question are a few home remodeling projects with Floor and Décor, and we’ll start project three (new tile in the dining and living rooms) and project four - the guest bath as we also start a new year. And no, not both at once! But I am inspired by Lindt Chocolate Party Expert Karin Carlson to design a chocolate tasting party.  See, once that nasty old carpet is out of the way, who cares what gets spilled?! Start the adventure with our video from the Lindt Chocolate expert who will teach you to savor the flavor.

But to start a great chocolate tasting experience, you have to start with great chocolate, and would you know how to choose? Good advice from Karin on what to look for in fine chocolate.  It's not just one quick taste, it's taking a careful look at the chocolate, listening for a true, sharp snap when you break a piece, and of course the smell and taste. But then comes the creation of blending the wonderful taste of chocolate with the sublime taste of a fine wine. It’s another grand opportunity to learn what will complement what and see what your friends truly enjoy when you learn how to pair wine and chocolate. Oh, and remember. In Kelly’s Kitchen we don’t stop at wine. Why not create a few chocolate drinks. Of course for this occasion we're not talking just chocolate milk. It’s also a fun opportunity to get creative with everything from chocolate scented invitations to inviting a local wine expert to be a part of the experience so they can make you look so good. I think I’ll start looking now.

It’s the perfect opportunity to start the New Year with a new tradition, and a chance to step outside the box and forget the same old cocktail party and tired appetizers. Learn to enjoy the sweet with the savory, try that one chocolate treat with something besides the usual guilt. There are no calories this time around. Let’s do chocolate, and take a moment to her the full interview and enjoy our chocolatey chat. Merry Christmas to you all from Kelly's Kitchen!
