The retrial of Cortnee Brantley, the ex-girlfriend of the Dontae Morris who killedTampa police officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab begins today. She’s charged with lying to police about where Morris was during the hunt for him in 2010.

Former St Pete Times Newspaper editor and columnist Eugene Patterson died Saturday night. He won one Pulitzer Prize while at the Atlanta Journal Constitution in ’67 for his columns on the civil rights movement, and won two more while at The Times.
