The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission arrested thirteen men for digging up Native American archeological sites across the state and selling the artifacts for millions on the black market. They’ll all be in court this morning, including William Walters from Dade City.

This is Pope Benedict’s last day leading the Catholic Church before goes into seclusion, the first to resign from the papacy in almost 600 year. The pontiff will live at the Castel Gandolfo retreat. The Vatican wants to have the next pontiff in place in time for the week of services leading up to Easter Sunday on March 31

Phase 3 water restrictions for Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas start on March 13th and will run through July 31st.That means you can only wash your car one day a week; use your outdoor fountains for only four hours a day and only water your lawn once a week on your approved day

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn wasn’t too happy how the word didn’t get out when the boil water notice went out last week because a lot of people aren’t signed up for a free notification service. Alert Tampa is available on the city’s web site. Only 11,000 of the city’s 300,000 residents have signed up it.

Governor Rick Scott wants Major League baseball to keep their spring training sites in Florida, and dedicated one of his work days to send that message yesterday. The Governor was at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland to talk about his $5 million dollar plan for upgrades to existing sites.
