Greer Trial Begins

The trial of former Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer, who has been charged with money laundering and grand theft get underway today in Orlando. What they’d like to know is who knew what, and when, about Greer's decision to take over fundraising for the Republican Party of Florida.

A story in the Trib has Hillsborough County Commissioner Victor Crist trying to help with the Rays debate. Crist serves on the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council and thinks that group could be helpful the negotiations between the Rays and the city.
But John Wolfe, John Wolfe, the in-house attorney for St. Petersburg would prefer they stay out of it.

They’re cleaning up on the east coast after this weekend’s killer storm. Up to three feet of snow fell, thousands were without power, and quite a few rescued from their cars. Boston set a record with two feet of snow, and some schools will stay closed today. Call ahead on flight delays.

A stray bullet struck Camile Prince in her leg at the Gasparilla Knight Parade Saturday in Ybor. A couple of groups got into a fight, shots were fired and she was struck but will be fine. They haven’t arrested anyone.

The state’s python hunt is officially over at 5 today. 1,500 people registered for the hunt and so far have caught 50 of them. The hunt's final tally will be announced Saturday at Zoo Miami with prizes for the hunters who caught the most pythons and the longest pythons.
