St. Petersburg City Council said no thanks to a proposal that would let the Rays to pay a fee to look at other stadium sites. Mayor Bill Foster says he still wants to meet with the Rays, and they’re working on that.

A search warrant by St Pete Police turned up a lot of ammo and firearms at a business owned by, and the home of, Jason Thomas yesterday. One officer described the amount as enough to start a small war. They also found drugs. Thomas is a convicted felon and will face federal charges.

Universal Health Care has filed for bankruptcy. Right now they’re trying to stay open and work on the sale of UHC to a company controlled by Tampa cardiologist and WellCare Health Plans founder Kiran Patel. But all of that will have to wait for the state to finish their investigation into allegations of embezzlement, diversion of its assets, forgery or fraud.

Another major winter storm for the northeast today, and snowfall may total in feet. A blizzard warning is in effect for New York City and Boston, and many flights are cancelled, including flights at TIA. So yes, call ahead.

A massive manhunt underway for a former LAPD cop accused of gunning down three, including a police officer. The search has moved into the mountains around the Big Bear area, after what they described as a “manifesto” was found with what amounts to a hit list.

It’s good to be Marco Rubio. He’s on the cover of Time magazine, who calls him the "Savior of the Republican Party." And next week Rubio will deliver the Republican response to president Obama's State of the Union address.

Sounds like high gas prices are paying off for PSTA; they set a record for riders on the bus last Friday, with 50,000 riders. Tourist season might be helping.
