Brantley Guilty, Honor For SP Officers

Three weeks ago, a jury found Cortnee Brantley guilty on the rare charge of misprision of a felony. Yesterday, a federal judge finally adjudicated on those charges, and she now faces a maximum of three years in federal prison. She will be sentenced April 29. Brantley’s boyfriend, Dontae Morris, shot and killed Tampa police officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis.

Tampa police have a heads up for some homeowners in northeast Tampa. Burglars want what you have. An area off 275, between Bush and Hanna have had a lot of break-ins lately, and the scary part is most of those are during the day.

A semi driver who fell asleep at the wheel made a mess out of northbound 75 last night around MLK. Haz met was called in after diesel fuel spilled from the big rig.

Two St. Petersburg Police Officers have been named 2012 Law Enforcement Officers of the Year, Sgt. Karl Lounge and Ofc. Douglas Weaver were part of a shoot-out with a fugitive where two law enforcement officers lost their lives, and others, including Officer Weaver, were injured.

The Post Office says they are ending Saturday first class mail delivery starting in August. The move will save 2 billion dollars a year. They will still deliver packages.
