The Clearwater woman who killed her two sons before taking her own life Friday night was facing welfare fraud charges. Dawn Brown was supposed to go before a judge next week. The family was also facing foreclosure on their home which was without power. Friends of the family have set up a donation website to help with funeral expenses.

“Homeland” was a big winner at the Emmys last night, taking best drama and best lead actor and actress awards. “The Daily Show With” Jon Stewart took home its10^th consecutive best variety show Emmy, and “Modern Family” took best comedy. HBO led the night with 17 Emmys, CBS came in second with 13, and PBS has 11.

The Bucs lose to Dallas 16-10 Sunday in Dallas; they come home to Ray Jay Sunday for a 4:15 kickoff against Washington. The Rays had a good weekend, with a sweep of Toronto. They now head to Fenway for two games with the Red Sox, then off to Chicago for a series with the White Soxs.

A week ago the National Zoo in Washington was celebrating the birth of a giant panda cub, but now they’re trying to determine how it died yesterday. Zookeepers heard the mother making a distressed sound and found the cub. They expect to know more about the cub’s death later today.
