A Tampa Bay Times/Bay News Nine poll has found Governor Scott trailing against possible contenders Alex Sink or former Governor Charlie Crist if the election were held today. The gap is greatest between Scott and Sink.

Tampa City Council has decided to wait on relocating some of those cameras from the RNC to higher crime areas in the city until they can speak with city officials who were missing from yesterday’s council meeting. Chief Jane Castor and city attorney Jim Shimberg were not at the meeting.

Remains found earlier this week in a burned out car in Seffner have been positively identified as those of Gwendolyn Belcher, who had been reported as missing. Her husband is still in jail on domestic violence charges with a hearing Oct. 3rd.

President Obama attended a private fundraiser at a home in South Tampa yesterday with tickets sold for $20,000 each. The president spent about an hour and a half with supporters. Mitt Romney was in Sarasota for a Rally at the Ringling Art Museum.

The Rays came back in the ninth inning with a BJ Upton home that brought in 3 runs and sent Baltimore out the door with a 7-4 loss. In all, the Rays had six hits in the ninth. The Toronto Blue Jays are in for a weekend series

It’s Child Passenger Safety Week, and tomorrow many locations across Tampa Bay are doing free car set inspections. Among those locations is the Glazer Children’s Museum Saturday from 1-4 pm and the Lowry Park Zoo Sunday from 9:30 am to 5 pm during $5 Sunday.
