Subways and schools are closed; the New York Stock Exchange floor will be empty with trading taking place online today as the East Coast braces for Hurricane Sandy. They call Sandy a superstorm, triggering evacuations that include lower Manhattan, and the cancellation of thousands of flights. At least 60 deaths are already blamed on the storm.

President Obama is in Orlando for a rally today with former President Bill Clinton, before he returns to DC to monitor the storm. The rally begins at 10 am at the University of Central Florida.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio left the campaign trail early this weekend, after his oldest daughter was involved in a golf cart accident that left her with a head injury. Twelve year old Amanda is listed in fair condition at Miami Children’s Hospital with a concussion.

Early voting continues through November 3rd throughout Florida; remember to bring a photo ID with you, and they are allowing you to bring a sample ballot along that you can fill out in advance. That will help a lot since the ballot is so long.

If you were hoping the NHL lockout was going to end soon…think again. They have now cancelled all games through November 30th.

It’s all over, the new World Series Champs are the San Francisco Giants, who swept the Detroit Tigers in four games, with that final game going extra innings last night in Detroit.
