The investigation continues into a decades-old dogfighting ring in Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County Animal Services uncovered a huge dogfighting ring that had apparently been operating for at least twenty years on property owned by Vanny and Russell Franklin, convicted felons who are expected in court this morning. The home is located in rural Seffner, and investigators will return today to search for more evidence.

A jury has been chosen for the trial of Dee-Dee Moore, the woman accused of killing Polk County lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare. Opening arguments are set for 10 this morning. If Moore is convicted, she faces life in prison.

Pinellas County Commissioners voted to restore fluoride to the county’s water, reversing an earlier decision. The fluoride may be back in the system before the end of the year.

St Pete Police continue their going door to door campaign ask residents for help in finding a possible arsonist. There have been four suspicious fires within in a two block radius in the Causeway Isles neighborhood in the west part of the city from early September to late November. They do think it’s the work of one person. If you have any information call St Pete Police at 727-893-7780.

The Bay area’s largest health care provider, BayCare Health Care and UnitedHealthcare could not come to an agreement on a new contract and as a result, more than 40,000 people in the Bay area are affected. If you are with UnitedHealthcare and need to find a new doctor, they suggest going to the UnitedHealthcare website and choosing from one of their doctors-in-network within your zip code.

If you were one of the many car enthusiasts who lined the Gandy yesterday to watch the Top Gear taping you might be wondering what happened. The film crew left because they said too many people were there, and they cancelled the shoot. A few managed to get a glimpse of what they had come to see – the Bugatti, one of the world’s most expensive cars.
