St Pete Police are going door to door to ask residents for help in finding a possible arsonist. There have been four suspicious fires within in a two block radius in the Causeway Isles neighborhood in the west part of the city from early September to late November. They do think it’s the work of one person. If you have any information call St Pete Police at 727-893-7780.

The Bay area’s largest healthcare provider BayCare Health Care and UnitedHealthcare could not come to an agreement on a new contract and as a result, more than 40,000 people in the Bay area are affected. If you are with UnitedHealthcare and need to find a new doctor, they suggest going to the UnitedHealthcare website and choosing from one of their doctors-in-network within your zip code.

Jury selection has begun in the trial of Dee-Dee Moore, the woman accused of killing Polk County lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare. She is accused of burying the body behind a home in Plant City. If Moore is convicted, she faces life in prison. The trial is expected to last 10 days

Police say seventeen-year old Channing Thorpe was defending his mother when he shot and killed his father over the weekend. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in Plant City where Christopher Thorpe was allegedly strangling his wife Jill. Their son fired several shots, striking both and killing the father. Jill Thorpe manages the Strawberry Hut in Plant City and was treated and released after the shooting, with Channing in her custody.

It looks like Evan Longoria will finish his career as a Tampa Bay Ray. Longoria signed a six year, one hundred million dollar contract extension making him a Ray into 2022. Adding that to his present contract, it makes him the highest paid athlete in Tampa Bay history and has a guaranteed $136.6 million dollars.

Wondering what’s going on with Cornelius, formerly known as the mystery monkey? He’s doing well, even being described as mellow, according to a story in the Tampa Bay Times, and Florida Fish and Wildlife says there’s a good chance he’ll be handed over to trapper Vernon Yates, who says Cornelius’s new home will most likely be at Dade City’s Wild Things with other macaques.
