The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will hold a full hearing Thursday on the affair and ensuing scandal involving former CIA Director General David Petraeus and his biographer, Paula Broadwell. The top American commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Allen, is also under investigation for alleged 'inappropriate communications with Jill Kelley, the Tampa woman who says both men are a friend of the family. She has called 911 several times to complain of trespassers at the family’s Bayshore home asking for diplomatic protection at one point. 

No criminal charges will be filed in the death of an 11 year old special needs student who wandered away from her school and drowned in a nearby pond on the Rogers Middle School campus. The family of Jenney Cabellero calls that an injustice and looking for legal representation. Hillsborough County School Superintendent  MaryEllen Elia says five of the six school aides that were on duty that day have been told not to come back to the school until further notice, and that the school will have their own investigation.

A lineman from Lakeland Electric who was attacked while helping to restore power in East Hempstead is talking about his experience, saying he was caught completely off guard when he was slugged. John Applewhite is back in Tampa having surgery for a broken jaw and cheekbone. He also said he’ll continue to volunteer his time for storm victims.

Governor Rick Scott’s mother has died. Esther Scott became ill last month and passed away in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri yesterday at 84.
