The votes are still being counted in Florida and the race has not been certified, but President Obama’s camp issued a press release claiming victory yesterday. Even the Associated Press won’t call the race, it’s that close and the counting was slowed by those long voting lines on election night, lots of last-minute absentee ballots and a few other issues. Mitt Romney has not conceded.

The attorney for Clifford Work, the owner of the Royal Palm Cemetery who was shot by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper in September is now speaking out on behalf of his client. Todd Vargo says he’s not surprised by the findings, but is still deciding if they’ll file a lawsuit against Trooper Daniel Cole. An FDLE report said Cole was justified in the shooting but also notes inconsistencies in the reports of what did happen that day.

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark has a few things to say about the robo calls that went out with misinformation from her office. In a statement released yesterday, Clark said when the mistake was discovered, they sent out more calls correcting their initial mistake telling voters they had until the day after the election to vote, and regretted and inconvenience to voters.

Seven members of Navy Seal Team Six are in trouble for allegedly acting as consultants for a video game and using classified information in the process of doing so. One of the Seals was a member of the team that led the raid on Bin Laden.

Someone actually thought this was a good idea. Michael O’Leary, chief executive of Ryanair which is a British budget airliner has suggested creating “standing room only” sections for flights within Europe with prices as low as $1.50 a ticket. He was quoted as saying that in the event of a crash, seat belts don’t matter anyway. Good luck with turbulence.
