The polls may be closed but they’re still counting electoral votes in Florida with no declared winner yet. The President might not have needed those votes to win re-election, but it could be next week before we know if the majority of those votes went to the President or Mitt Romney.

A nor’easter has slammed into the east coast, just as residents were starting to recover from Super Storm Sandy; thousands who has just regained power have lost it again, rail service is hampered and many flights cancelled. Mayor Michael Bloomberg did not issue mandatory evacuations, but the mayor of Long Beach, NJ did for the many that had ignored that advice for Sandy.

Those robo calls some Pinellas County residents received urging them to vote – the day after the election – has Supervisory of Elections Deborah Clark pointing the finger of blame at the company hired to make those calls, Callfire Inc of Santa Monica, CA. The company, in turn, is blaming someone in the elections office who they say simply launched those calls manually at the wrong time.

A report from the FDLE has ruled that Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Daniel Cole was justified in the shooting of Clifford Work, the owner of the Royal Palm Cemetery this past September. The report also notes inconsistencies in the reports of what did happen that day. Clifford Work had no comment on the report.

The Buc’s rookie running back Doug Martin was named NFC Offensive player of the week yesterday. Martin had a club-record 251 yards rushing against the Raiders Sunday, the 10th most in league history.
