Not fair. Miss Evelyn from The Red Rose Inn invited me to dinner and now that’s on indefinite hold. The news broke yesterday that after brunch this past Sunday, the Red Rose Inn closed the doors. But with luck, it won’t be permanent. We hear that the family does not plan to sell The Red Rose, and might reopen someday. I can understand wanting to take a step back and realize what’s important in your life, after they lost their daughter Laurie to breast cancer. Evelyn Madonia and her husband Batista have been good to, and for Plant City. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting them both at the Plant City Strawberry Festival Media party a number of times. So for now, we’ll wait and see. But I’ll miss the commercials.
