The honor is long overdue, but most definitely in order. Judy Lisi, president and CEO of the Straz Center, was honored at the Broadway League Awards on Tuesday in New York City. She received the Distinguished Lifetime Service Award for her 20 years of work at the Straz, formerly the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Judy on numerous occasions and she’s an amazing woman, and the kind of role model we need. Her support of the arts in Tampa Bay has never been stronger, and thanks to her leadership, it looks brighter every day. Congratulation Judy and here’s to a great 2012 Broadway Season!
