Governor Rick Scott declared a level 1 (One) state of emergency after Tropical Storm Debby dropped heavy rain and high winds on the Tampa Bay area. While this is the lowest delineation, it will activate storm operations in more than 67 counties in Florida.
A Florida mom pays the ultimate price when she died protecting her daughter from the storm yesterday. 32 year old Heather Town was thrown about 200 feet when tropical storm Debby spawned a tornado that engulfed her home in Venus.
The Rays lost 8-0 yesterday and the bad outing was just shy of a team record allowing 13 hits by Alex Cobb.
