Let's Hear It (but not too loudly) For Our Graduates!

Congratulations...now, about your bail....

This is graduation season. My nephew Sal just graduated this past weekend, and I’m so proud of him. But it seems that pride can go a little far in some cities. One mom was actually arrested to cheering too loudly at her daughter’s high school graduation ceremony in Florence, South Carolina. School officials say they warned everyone in advance that anyone who cheered or screamed would be escorted out of the hall. Since when don’t we cheer for our kids? I do realize it can be taken to an extreme, but Shannon Cooper was actually taken to jail and has posted at $225 bond. What’s been going on in that school system to take things to that kind of extreme? You have to wonder. What has your graduation experience been like…anyone else been thrown out?! Tell me all about it at ann.kelly@coxmg.com.
