The Weather Channel has released the July update to the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season outlook. The updated forecast calls for a total of 13 named storms, 6 of which are expected to become hurricanes, including 3 major hurricanes

   A man who worked as a puppeteer in Largo has been arrested on charges of threatening to kidnap and harm children. Ronald William Brown was arrested on federal charges. He's in federal custody until his bond hearing, possibly next week.

   A helicopter crashed in the Lealman area at 46^th Ave n and 35^th St of St. Petersburg Tuesday night shortly before 7 p.m. Wayne Park was attempting to move the two-seater helicopter when he reportedly lost a tail rotor and went into a spin, crashing into a fence. He’s okay, and the FAA and the NTSB will conduct an investigation
