There were protesters lining the road near the Seminole fire department Sunday after being told firefighters had to remove small American flags that were flying from fire engine windows.the order to remove the flags came from Seminole fire chief George Bessler after the department received a complaint from a community member about flag placement. And as you can imagine, very strong feelings on both sides about the removal.

No concerts, no sports, no nothing aside from construction now at the Tampa Bay Times forum. They’ve officially begun the process of transforming the Forum for the RNC convention next month. Costs run about 20 million dollars.

There’s still plenty of work to be done after Tropical Storm Debbie, and FEMA (the Federal Emergency and Management Agency) has opened a disaster recovery center in New Port Richey, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is located at 4444 Grand Ave. If you’d like to speak with them, they do recommend that you register before coming to the center. Call 800-621-3362, or going online at disasterassistance.gov. You can also find centers open for assistance at these locations: for Pinellas County residents at 5851 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park. If you live in Hernando County, you’ll find the office at 800 Gary Grubbs Blvd, Brooksville. Highlands, your FEMA office is at 4509 S George Blvd, Sebring. And again, please call or go online for more information.
