A heart breaker of a loss for the Bucs yesterday at Ray Jay, but a great halftime show honoring the 10th anniversary of their team’s sole Superbowl win with players and coaches on the field, including Jon Gruden, QB  Brad Johnson and Mike Alstott. The Bucs lost in the last two seconds to the Eagles 23-21.

A huge trade for the Rays; Jim Shields and Wade Davis going to Kansas City for Will Myers, considered player of the year in the minors along with three other prospects. Shields has been with the Rays his entire pro career.

Pinellas County Sheriff deputies have arrested two St Petersburg men as suspects in two home invasions with children in both at the time, one a newborn. Anthony Stewart of St. Petersburg and Maurice Climes of Clearwater, were arrested and charged in the home invasion robbery. A third suspect, the driver from the first incident is still at large.

More than 3,000 absentee ballots were rejected in the Bay area this last election. The Board of Elections says many for not following basic instructions, such as signing the ballot, which was one of the longest in recent memory.

A St Pete man has now been charged in the hit-and-run death of a homeless man over the weekend. Scott Benedict died on 19 near Mainlands. Nicholas Kachmar of Snug Harbor Road N.E., St. Petersburg, has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
