18 year old Jared Cano was sentenced as an adult yesterday by a Hillsborough County judge, and the sentence is for 15 years in prison.  Cano was charged in  a plot to bomb his high school and kill several teachers.

Gulfport police are asking for help in finding a serial arsonist, responsible for up to 30 fires over the past five years. The latest was Monday night that burned a palm tree and caused $20,000 in damage to a transformer. The the gun detectives say was used to kill Abraham Shakespeare was front and center yesterday at the Dee Dee Moore murder trial. Prosecutors also downplayed confidential informant Greg Smith’s testimony from the previous day. Prosecutors had played tapes in which Moore is heard discussing finding someone to take the blame for the murder of Abraham Shakespeare, and Moore saying she was actually being framed herself.

A judge has sent both sides to mediation since discussion seemed to go nowhere during yesterday’s meeting.
