A St Pete man is charged with a terrible case of animal abuse, after they discovered four kittens in his freezer. Police were called, and they found the kittens wrapped in plastic sandwich bags. Three survived, and Rodney Blanchard was arrested. The kittens are expected to be up for adoption soon at SPCA Tampa Bay. But the Blanchard family problems didn’t end there.

The suspect in a double shooting in another park just down the street, the Sunshine Mobile Home Park was actually Blanchard’s roommate. Francis Bahr shot a man and a woman Saturday, who both survived. Bahr and Rodney Blanchard’s son Damian are both charged with two counts of attempted murder and were being held without bail Monday night

An eight year old Largo boy died after he rode his skateboard into the street and was struck by a car. Elijah Crayton was a third grader at Ridgecrest Elementary. The driver, who was unable to stop in time, will not face charges.

The Dee Dee Moore trial continues with a police informant taking the stand yesterday, testifying that he had agreed to help Moore, even going as far to talk with Abraham Shakespeare’s mother on the phone impersonating him. The next time Moore asked him to help, he was wearing a wire. Moore is accused of swindling Abraham Shakespeare out of his lottery winnings, then killing him and burying his body behind her house.

The CDC says this flu season is here early and could be a bad one. The strain that’s the most prevalent is making people much sicker and is especially hard on the elderly. They of course, advise a flu shot.

Cornelius is at his new home at Dade City’s Wild Things where there are around a dozen other macaques. The Cornelius area will be open to the public today, but because they don’t want to overwhelm their new resident with visitors, you must make reservations for a tour. Once Wild Things has raised enough money, Cornelius will have a larger enclosure.
