Schools are reopening this morning across the Bay area, and the RNC underway in Tampa; presumed nominee Mitt Romney is scheduled to be there for his wife Ann’s speech at 10 tonight. It now appears Isaac is heading for the northern Gulf coastline with Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi making preparations and some evacuations, one day before the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina making landfall in New Orleans as a Category 5 with winds of 167 mph. Flooding is a major concern for those areas along with the Florida Panhandle. Some damage to a mobile home park was reported after tornadoes were sighted in Vero Beach yesterday; there were tornado warnings in Tampa Bay but not reported damage.

Close to 200 gouging complaints to the Attorney General’s Price Gouging Hotline since it was activated thanks to Isaac, with most of those complaints about gas prices. If you have a complaint, call 1-866-966-7226 and you can report violations online at as well at myfloridalegal.com; fines can run $1,000 per violation, as well as a second degree misdemeanor.

Bucs heading out today for their fourth and final preseason game against the Redskins in Washington on Wednesday, and the Rays lose the opener to Texas, dropping them out of the top spot in the wild card race, making it the 9th loss in the past 10 games by a score of 6-5.
