Busy Weekend and Here Come The RNC

It looks like what is the anticipated highlight of the RNC will come a little early; Mitt Romney’s nomination, which was scheduled for Wednesday, will begin with the delegates roll call on Monday due to concerns about the weather…and Ron Paul supporters. Romney is supposed to speak Thursday, and candidates are traditionally nominated the day before they speak.

A pilot who took off from the airport on Davis Island ended up landing on interstate 75 yesterday, causing massive traffic problems, but no injuries to anyone in the plane or on the ground. Charles Pulliam the plane started losing oil and he was forced to land, taking down some power lines in the process, and losing a wing.

The fight over the St Pete Pier continues, with the group opposed to the destruction of the old Pier filing suit against the city. They want the Pier question put on the November ballot.

The Rays shut out the A’s yesterday at the Trop 5-0, with tonight’s game today at 7:10, and one more Saturday afternoon at 1 pm, before the Trop is shut down for the RNC kickoff bash on Sunday. And the Bucs next preseason game is back at Ray Jay against New England tonight night at 7:30 pm, with the final preseason game in Washington on the 29th. Regular Season opener is Sept 9th at Ray Jay against Carolina.
