Some damage reported from our overnight thunderstorms on both sides of the Bay including that overhead sign as you head onto Davis Island, with more on the way today; Hernando and Citrus counties will stay under a flood watch into this evening. And more activity in the tropics with a low that’s heading west toward the Caribbean and it’s something to keep an eye on for later this week.

Long distance swimmer Diana Nyad is still working toward her goal of swimming from Cuba to Tampa despite last night’s strong storms. Nyad will celebrate her 63th birthday Wednesday. This try makes her third attempt since last summer at a cage-less crossing of the Straits of Florida.

Roy Speer, the man that co-founded HSN died over the weekend; the company went national in 1985, resigning as chairman in 1993 after allegations of financial misconduct that never came to any indictments from a grand jury.
