There’s a new, private group in Pinellas County that has their own plan for the Trop and keeping the Rays in town. Real estate developer Darryl LeClair has sent a letter to Mayor Bill Foster outlining his plan for a stadium in the Gateway area of St Pete. The Rays beat Toronto again last night, and with this afternoon’s game could complete the sweep.

A four year old Palm Harbor boy was rescued from the bottom of an apartment complex pool and literally brought back to life by Andrew Carilia, who performed CPR until paramedics arrive and Cayden Gagnon was airlifted to All Children’s Hospital.

 If you think its hard finding a rental car around the RNC, try a hotel room. Organizers had originally estimated the need for 75,000 rooms. Now that figure is up to 90,000 during what it traditionally the slowest time of the year for Bay area hotel.

Randy Travis was scheduled to perform at the RNC for a concert for vets, but was arrested Tuesday on charges of DUI and threatening an officer in Dallas. It’s the second arrest since February, those charges for public intoxication. No comment from his management.

Basketball Team USA has made it to the semi-finals at the Olympics, two wins away from the gold; next opponent is Argentina. Russia and Spain is the other semi-final match. The women’s basketball team also takes Australia for their semi-final game.
