Country music star Kellie Pickler will be performing at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Friday, October 11th!
Known for her restless small-town dream to reach for the stars of the music world, Kellie was first recognized as one of the six finalists in the fifth season of the popular reality TV show American Idol, where it was evident to all she was a star. While on tour with Idol, Kellie recorded her debut album, Small Town Girl, which has gone on to sell more than 800,000 copies worldwide and produce three hit singles: Red High Heels, I Wonder and Things That Never Cross a Man’s Mind, which firmly established her in the Country Music industry.
Her 2008 follow-up album featured country radio hits Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful, Best Days of Your Life (co-written with Taylor Swift and her first Top 10) and Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You. Having established herself as not only a powerful vocalist but also a songwriter, Pickler released her third studio album, 100 Proof, with famed producer Frank Liddell (known for his work with Miranda Lambert) and Luke Wooten. An avid supporter of the U.S. military, she has performed on six USO Tours, having most recently visited Afghanistan in December 2012.
This past spring, Pickler and her dance pro/partner Derek Hough won the coveted Mirrorball Trophy on ABC’s highly-rated Dancing with the Stars. The trophy and her dance outfit from her winning performance are currently on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.
Now signed to Black River Entertainment, Pickler is currently recording her new album, which will be released later this year. Recently she reunited with Hough for her music video for Someone Somewhere Tonight. Her current single, Little Bit Gypsy, can be heard on country radio stations nationwide.
