Description:
The Center for India Studies in collaboration with PEHCHAAN of Tampa Bay presents a film screening of "Hiding Divya" which highlights the taboo of mental illness in the South Asian community. This event will include a discussion, followed by a Q&A session with the director of the film, Rehana Mirza. This film provides a rare, realistic and poignant glimpse into the lives of three generations of women. Combining the deft humor of Mirza's award-winning shorts with the philosophical twists of her acclaimed stage plays, "Hiding Divya" tells a story of denial, shame, guilt and, most of all, love.
