Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) March 2 and 3/2013 - Saturday & Sunday 10am to 6pm DescriptionJust as "CPR" skills make physical first aid possible, training in suicide intervention develops the skills used in suicide first aid. ASIST is a two-day intensive, interactive and practice-dominated course that includes teaching, discussion and videos. This training is recognized as a best practice, skills based training through the National Suicide Prevention Resource Center and is used to train all volunteers through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK). ASIST is an evidence based model that transforms knowledge and theory into operational tools. World-wide, over 950,000 people have been trained in ASIST, helping to create suicide-safer communities. ASIST was developed by LivingWorks.
