The Nursery, Landscape & Floriculture Career Development Event is to introduce and strengthen 4-H and FFA students in the practical knowledge of the environmental horticulture industry. Student participants study for hands-on identification tests of pests, plants, and tools that are commonly seen in the nursery industry leading up to a one day test at the Extension Office in Seffner, and then on to state and national tests. Students will compete for cash prizes and trophies for top performers as individuals and school and chapter teams. Students gain a working knowledge that can be applied in work related employment or for future endeavors within the industry or continuing education.
