by Kerry Glamsch, directed by Jan Farrell
Tuesday, November 27 @ 7pm What is “good,” what guides our motivations, and how do we move forward through the chaos of our wounded lives? Blaming his mother for the death of his older brother, a recently expelled high school student fabricates an illicit sex tape in an attempt to destroy his mother’s relationship with her dear friend Lou, a gay Gulf War vet. The latest play by Kerry Glamsch, The Furbearers touches on a cultural context of mediation, the easy manipulation of information and self-image, and the inhumanity of a society enthralled by public exposure of self and others. Currently a professor of Theatre at the University of Tampa Glamsch joined Actor’s Equity in 1984, was a Michener fellow at University of Texas at Austin (MFA in Creative Writing), a Fulbright scholar at University of Craiova, a professor of Theatre at USF from 2003-2010, and has taught acting workshops in Bali, Tanzania, New Zealand and Romania. He was last seen at American Stage in last fall’s August: Osage County.Tickets: “Pay-What-You-Can” $15.00 advance ticket purchase (Suggested donation $10-$20 at the door.) Performed on our mainstage, where of course, there will be full cash bar service for all our patrons.
