The Philanthropic Women of HARC, a leadership network of community minded women making a difference in the lives of persons with developmental disabilities, will be hosting a “Hollywood Glam” gala on Friday, November 30th, 2012. The fundraising event, benefiting HARC (the Hillsborough Achievement and Resource Centers), will feature WTVT-TV personalities Charley Belcher and Laura Moody, as well as a speech from actress Holly Robinson Peete (21 Jump Street, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, Celebrity Apprentice). Ms. Robinson Peete has served as an activist for those with developmental disabilities, including her recent appearance on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, where she raised funds for the HollyRod Foundation. Organized by her and husband, Rodney Peete, HollyRod provides assistance for those dealing with the effects of Parkinson’s Disease, as well as support for children with autism. Beginning at 7 p.m., guests will enjoy an evening full of fantastic food, divine cocktails and live entertainment from ‘Bobby G Summers’ at the TPepin Hospitality Centre located in East Tampa. The event hopes to raise awareness of issues within the developmentally disabled community, while also raising funds for the great work the non-profit provides to those in Hillsborough County. The Philanthropic Women of HARC is a relatively new branch of the organization, and looks forward to launching their new group as a part of the event.
