The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM - at The Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5402 Land O’ Lakes Blvd/US 41, Land O’ Lakes, 34639, between SR 52 and SR 54. Land O’ Lakes Community Center is located on the west side of the highway. Enter the rear meeting room through the middle courtyard from the south side of the building. The subject of the Tuesday, October 9, 7:00 PM meeting is "Florida's Ferns"" presented by Eileen Hart. Eileen, a former member of the Suncoast Chapter, has been a Hillsborough County Master Gardener for 31 years. She will bring samples and examples of our local ferns so you can actually see what they look like! For those of you who like pictures, Craig Huegel's new book "Native Wildflowers and Other Ground Covers for Florida Landscapes" will be available, and has 25 pages on ferns to wet your appetite for acquiring more information on these "feathery" native plants. Join us for this interesting program! Meetings of the Chapter are free, and all interested parties are invited to attend, to bring questions about their yard, and participate in light refreshments and the native plant drawing.
